Efficient warewashing equipment is invaluable in keeping service flowing during busy prep, service and clean-down periods.

With so many different types of machines available in varying sizes, such as undercounter glasswashers and dishwashers, passthroughs, potwashers, rack conveyors and flight conveyor systems, the choice can be quite bewildering and it can be difficult to know where to start.

"Each school should be viewed as an individual case as not all school catering set-ups and kitchens are the same," says Bob Wood, director of DC Warewashing & Icemaking Systems. "As a rule, most school catering operations will have a glasswasher and a dishwasher as a minimum which are available as undercounters or passthrough systems."

DC's undercounter glasswasher PG50 or dishwasher PD50 are compact, powerful machines which really 'punch above their weight' in terms of robustness, reliability, performance and value for money; the dishwasher is capable of washing an outstanding 18 full-sized plates in just two minutes.

"Both boast an unusually frugal wash tank at just 12-litres (when compared with a traditional model that has a 30-litre tank) and use only 2.6 litres of water per cycle compared with the three litres used by other machines" says Wood.
